Coventry School of Computing offers the following three undergraduate technology-oriented programmes: Computing, Computer Science, and Ethical Hacking & Cybersecurity. Engineering is the application of applied sciences and management to solve real-life problems that improve living standards and quality of life. Engineers are responsible for constructing buildings and bridges, manufacturing cars and wind turbines or producing electrical energy from renewable energy sources such as the sun.
We are currently living in an unprecedented time as the whole world is moving from the exploitation of fossil fuels to the utilization of sustainable and renewable energy sources. Furthermore, Industry 4.0 and Digitization are megatrends that change production and construction and require multidisciplinary professionals equipped with the right skills and mindset. Welcome to the Department of Psychology where our goal is to implement scientific, empirical methods to the study of the human experience.
The questions at the heart of most psychological research are those that have occupied the greatest philosophical and scientific minds of our time. There is an undeniable curiosity about why people are the way that they are, and how they develop and adapt to almost any circumstance. We are innately drawn to analysing the behaviour of those around us, in order to draw patterns and predict actions to avoid consequences. In fact, psychology is all around us and we are all practising in one way or another the study of psychology in our daily life. However, to supplement this natural curiosity with the structure of the scientific method provides reliability and validity of the conclusions we make regarding human behaviour.
